ARLANDER "A.W." WEATHERSBY | COACH | INDUCTED: NOVEMBER 3, 2006


Arlander Weathersby was honored posthumously in October, 2006 at the NHS Athletic Hall of Fame induction ceremony.

A graduate of Delaware State College, "A.W." was one of the most beloved coaches in Nottingham's history. He began his coaching career at Grice Junior High School in 1972 and moved on to Hamilton High West where he led the Track and Field program for two years.

A.W. came to Nottingham in 1982 where he became head coach in Winter and Spring Track. His teams won several Colonial Valley Conference Division Championships and many individuals went on to achieve personal bests at the State Track Championships leading him to 'Coach of the Year' honors.

On October 9, 2003 Arlander Weathersby passed on at the age of 56, but his spirit lives on in many Northstars. He was honored in 2004 when the track at Nottingham High School was named in his memory.
