RON NICKLOW | COACH | INDUCTED: OCTOBER 12, 2007 Ron Nicklow attended Steinert High School where he was a two-year letter winner in baseball and a one-year letter winner in soccer. Ron attended Rider College in 1963 where he played soccer for one season. He graduated from Trenton State College [now TCNJ] in 1972. Ron began his teaching career at Steinert where he stayed for the next ten years. He served as JV baseball coach from 1976-1982 and assistant wrestling coach from 1974-1982. When Nottingham opened its doors as a high school, Ron transferred and became the first Varsity Wrestling Coach in its' history. It would be in wrestling that Ron had his greatest impact. His hard work and dedication helped make Nottingham Wrestling one of the most respected programs in the county. In an 18-year career, he finished with a record of 138-107-1. His 1986, 1987, 1993, and 1994 teams won Colonial Valley Conference Division Championships. His 1990 team was the Mercer County Tournament Champions. Ron was named 'Coach of the Year' two times. As the one and only "Swamp Fox", he was responsible for developing the tradition of the "Swamp Rat" which has symbolized Nottingham Wrestling for years. RETURN TO THE HALL OF FAME MEMBERS PAGE
