BILL LANGDON | COACH | INDUCTED: SEPTEMBER 12, 2014 Coach Bill Langdon was one of the longest serving coaches in Nottingham High School history. As a former pitcher at Philadelphia's Abraham Lincoln High School, Bill went 10-0 as a senior thanks to his ability to locate the ball well and throw his curve successfully. He was instrumental in leading his team to the City Public League Championship and the Philadelphia All-City Championship in 1965. He was named All-Public First Team, All-City First Team, PA All-State, and Athlete of the Year. Bill also played on numerous local and semi-pro teams. A shoulder injury ended his playing career at West Chester State College. While at Notingham, Bill coached at the junior high, freshman and junior varsity levels before being named varsity coach in 2004. In Bill's 8 years as the Northstars' skipper, Nottingham won Valley Championships in 2005, 2006, and 2008. His 2008 team also captured the Mercer County Tournament Championship. Named the CVC's Baseball Coach of the Year following the 2005 season, Bill also coached the Hamilton Babe Ruth All-Star State Championship teams in 1998, 1999, and 2000 and was an assistant coach for the North Trenton Post 458 American Legion team for several years. After spending more than 34 years teaching social studies, Bill is now retired. He and his wife Linda, a former Nottingham and Steinert math teacher, now live in Dunedin, Florida.
