SEAN GRIFFIN | CLASS OF '87 | INDUCTED: SEPTEMBER 30, 2011


Sean Griffin was a three-year starter who set the bar high prompting some to label him "the best soccer player to ever wear a Northstar uniform".

Sean had the ability to not only score 28 career goals, but also to distribute the ball to his teammates. He still holds the school record for assists in a single season (11) in 1986, and in a career (21).

Post-season honors began when he was a sophomore. He was given Honorable Mention by both The Trentonian and The Times. Mercer County coaches selected him to the 2nd Team. In 1985, he made All-County First Team by The Trentonian and The Times and the Mercer County coaches. He received All-State recognition also. His stellar senior year was topped with 1st Team All-Mercer County, 1st Team Trentonian and The Times, and All-State recognition by the Newark Star Ledger.

After graduation, Sean attended Central Connecticut State University, where he was a varsity soccer player for four years. He graduated with a BS Degree in Finance.
