ROBERT FITZSIMMONS | COACH | INDUCTED: OCTOBER 12, 2007


Robert Fitzsimmons was raised in Bridgeton, NJ and graduated from Bridgeton High School where he played varsity football earning All-County honors. He graduated from Trenton State College [now TCNJ] where he continnued his football career and later earned a Master's degree from Rider University.

Bob taught over 30 years in Hamilton Township including a stop at Hamilton High West where he taught science. When Nottingham opened in 1982, Bob made the move from HHW and remained at Nottingham for the next 22 years where he taught science and served as a guidance counselor.

While at Nottingham, Bob served as a football coach and began his illustrious career as Varsity Golf Coach. His teams won three consecutive Colonial Valley Conference Championships and Mercer County Tournament Championships in 1989, 1990, and 1991. The 1990 team was crowned as overall NJ State Champions, the only NHS team to ever achieve this honor. Bob was a three-time honoree as Coach of the Year.
